I joined this workshop organized by Liron Gertsman in the Discovery Islands of British Columbia, Canada. Tidal rapids in the channels around the islands push hake to the surface faster than their swim bladders can cope with, creating an abundance of dead and dying fish. Numerous bald eagles, probably hundreds, juveniles and non-breeding adults swoop in for all they can eat.
We also photographed other birds, humpback whales, seals and sea lions and we made a land trip to Comox to see a barred owl searching for crayfish in a creek.
