Sri Lankans are rightly proud of their 34 endemic bird species and on our trip we managed to see all except the Green-billed Coucal. I got usable photos of 24 of the species. The junglefowl is the national bird.

Sri Lanka Birds (non-endemic)
Some of the many bird species in Sri Lanka that are not endemic to the country. Most of these photos were taken at Negombo and the Muthurajawela Sanctuary, Aniwilundawa Bird Sanctuary, Wilpattu National Park, Horton Plains National Park, Sinharaja Rain Forest and Lunugamvehera National Park (the ones in the rain).
